The North Carolina Global TransPark is heading into the next decade as a key engine for driving the economy of Eastern North Carolina.
That can only be achieved when a world-class industrial and business park is capable of efficiently delivering transportation services by land, air and sea – with immediate access to air, rail and highways as well as convenient access to deep-water sea ports.
The Global TransPark has a long association with air travel and continues to position itself as an outstanding point of origin and arrival for all types of air freight.
- Home of the Kinston Regional Jetport (ISO)
- 11,500-foot runway – second longest civilian runway in the eastern United States
- Land parcels with runway access
- Congestion-free departures and approaches
- Aprons and transverse taxiways on the south side of the runway
- Federal Aviation Administration Part 139-certified airfield with a CAT I instrument landing system and AWOS III/p
The Global TransPark has been the beneficiary of ongoing, steady local, state and federal roadway investments in Eastern North Carolina.
- Nearby N.C. Highway 70 (future Interstate 42) connects Raleigh (North Carolina's capital) to the Global TransPark to the coast
- Easy north-south travel on Interstate 95 and east-west travel on Interstate 40
- The high-speed C.F. Harvey Parkway bisects the Global TransPark
- Full extension of C.F. Harvey Parkway under construction from U.S. Highway 58 to U.S. Highway 11
- Planned spine road to serve prospective Global TransPark tenants on the north side
- Temperate weather allows year-round access to roadways
Bringing rail transportation into the Global TransPark has been part of the park's Master Plan for many years. Now, rail with direct access to North Carolina ports is nearby.
- Rail spur, completed in 2015, covering 5.8 miles, including a bridge and 10 crossings
- Easy access to the deep-water Port of Morehead City
- Spur line allows future "trunks" to current and future Global TransPark tenants
- Spur links to existing North Carolina Railroad track system
- Spur alignment to allow expansion to north side of runway
The Global TransPark is within close proximity to three deep-water ports – two in North Carolina – allowing the park to offer full transportation modality.
- Port of Morehead City and Port of Wilmington within 90 miles; Port of Norfolk within 150 miles
- Rail spur will enhance seaborne access
- Foreign-Trade Zones operating at both North Carolina ports and the Global TransPark
- Ports offer bulk cargo and container shipping
