LOGISTICS FIRM SIGNS ON AS NEW GTP TENANT
DB Schenker, a logistics service provider headquartered in New York State, has signed a 5-year renewable lease for one-half of a warehouse building at the N.C. Global TransPark (GTP) and expects to eventually fill as many as 40 full-time jobs. Read more...

EASTERN NC REPRESENTED AT FARNBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL AIR SHOW
A group of private aerospace companies and state agencies are joining forces to represent Eastern North Carolina at the upcoming Farnborough International Air Show later this month. Representatives from North Carolina's Eastern Region, the Global TransPark, Spatial Integrated Systems, and Commerce Overseas Corporation will travel to England to take part in one of the world's largest aerospace events. SPIRIT OFFICIALLY OPENS FACILITY AT GLOBAL TRANSPARK IN KINSTON
KINSTON, N.C - Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., (NYSE: SPR) the world's largest independent supplier of commercial airplane assemblies and components, today formally opened its new 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Kinston, N.C. The ceremony was hosted by Spirit President and CEO Jeff Turner, and Airbus President and CEO Tom Enders. SOLAR ENERGIZES GLOBAL TRANSPARK CENTER
The North Carolina Global TransPark (GTP) will soon feed power to the electric grid with the help of ‘green’ energy technology. Greenfield Power, a Charlotte-based solar firm, will install a solar photovoltaic (PV) system at GTP and Progress Energy Carolinas will purchase its entire output to serve the utility’s customers. One North Carolina Fund Grant Helps West Pharmaceutical Services Expand in Kinston
(Kinston)—West Pharmaceuticals will expand its production plant in Kinston, the first growth at an operation destroyed by fire in 2003 and rebuilt the following year.
